KwaZulu Natal or the Zulu Kingdom as locals would often refer to this South African province. It is the home of the legendary King Shaka the Zulu warrior as well as civil rights activist Mahatma Ghandi’s home while in South Africa. It is also the birth place of many prominent South Africa’s to name a few – Albert Luthuli (the first African to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize) , Pixley ja Isaja Seme (found of the ANC and SA’s first black lawyer) and Jacob Zuma (South African President).
KwaZulu Natal has a stunning coastline which stretches along the province showing off its beautiful warm water beaches. As you move inland discover the stunning rolling hills, aptly names Valley of 1000 Hills. The iSimangaliso (previously called the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park) and the uKhahlamba-Drakensberg Park are two areas in this province that have been have been declared World Heritage Site.
